There will be no ads on this website.

In this article, we will speak about some of the coming events that will happen during the year. Among these are the US Elections and the UEFA Euro 2024. We will explain why we decided to make this website ads-free and go with no ads.

Reson we went with no ads

If you are lucky and produce content that others find interesting, you will naturally have traffic generated to your website.
As a content provider, you need to make sure your work is generating money to pay for the upkeep of your website.

If you strike luck, you can have the website as an extra income. Since we are more a giver than a taker, we usually give extra to local charities or support the community when we have more than we need.

One way to make money from your website is to place ads. Those can be quite annoying and, many use ad-blockers which, then make the ads pretty much useless since they won’t generate money.

When we started this blog, our mindset was to place Google Ads. We later came to the conclusion ads would ruin much of the experience. The amount of ads needed would probably make the website too cluttered and unpleasant for the viewer, especially if you visit from a smartphone.

Ways to support

The option I went for to try and generate money is to put my trust in the reader’s kindness to donate money. I turned to “Buy Me a Coffee”, which has a neat and user-friendly plugin.

If you are up to supporting this blog, mainly the upkeep of it, a donation via the “Buy Me a Coffee” button in the lower right corner of the sidebar would be much appreciated.

The main reason I started this blog was, first of all, to post articles about topics I find interesting. I wanted to put my view on things.

The second thing was my love of writing texts. I love writing.

The third reason is my native language is not English, and what is the best practice to improve your writing and grammar? Yes, you are right! You have to write to learn. You will probably find a lot of imperfect grammar and choices of words in my sentences, but I hope it will be readable and easy to understand anyway.

If this website starts to generate money, I can pay off the bills for the upkeep and maybe help someone else have a better day. If that becomes a reality, the hours spent on writing articles will become time well spent.

I love to help others and see them grow. Maybe I help others more than I help myself.

What is happening in 2024?

2024 is a big year in many ways. The turmoils from 2023 are spilling over into 2024 with the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine and the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine, to mention two.

I hope 2024 can become the year where people in charge look away from their greed and earn cheap political points by doing things that only they are befitted from but have no gain for the people.

We need to start looking at humans as humans and not focus on differences. Many have to swallow their pride and get off their high horses, be more humane, and see people as humans, not as assets or statistics in a spreadsheet.

I think leaders need to step out of their comfortable office and start seeing “normal” people face to face to hear what they say. What their challenges are and take in information and facts. Then base their decisions on those facts. Leaders have to do what is best for the people.

US Elections in November. no ads

2024 US Elections in November

There is a common saying that says “Money Talks”.

The US Elections will be at the end of 2024 and are probably, if not the biggest, happening in 2024.

If “Money Talks”, the presidential election in the US is evidence of that saying.

Usually, the person with the most money and the most expensive campaign takes home the office.

If you have the money, there is a big chance you’ll be the next president.

You get the endorsements, and suddenly, you’ve become friends with some big companies/organisations, lobby organisations that put money into your campaign. If you win, the same people who supported you will be coming after you and demand something back for giving you their endorsement.

What they demand might not be what the people need, but you still have to find ways to pay back because there is a new election in four years, and you’ll need their support again.

Both Biden and Trump are probably levels above me, but there have to be two persons among the millions of US citizens better suited for the presidency than these two.

Besides the US Election, other interesting events will take place during the next 12 months.

Super Bowl 2024 in February

The annual American Football final, Super Bowl, will be on the 11th of February at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

For people outside the US, the main take on this is probably the half-time show and if there are funny commercials. The footballing part is mainly only the second part of this commercial-driven spectacle.

UEFA Euro 2024 kicks off in June

Another commercial-driven spectacle is taking place in the summer when the UEFA Euro 2024 football tournament kicks off on the 14th of June in Germany.

The final will be played one month later, on the 14th of July, in Berlin.

There are six groups of four teams in each.

Group A will have Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland
Group B will have Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania
Group C will have Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia and England
Group D will have Netherlands, Austria, France and the Play-off winner A
Group E will have Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and the Play-off winner B
Group F will have Türkiey, Portugal, Czech Republic and the Play-off winner C

With six months to go, France and England are the favourites based on bookmakers odds. Other contenders for the title could be Germany, Spain and Italy, winners of UEFA Euro 2020.

The qualification Play-off explained

The Play-off group A has the following teams: Wales, Finland, Poland and Estonia.
